9th Week Summary

COMPUTER - AID

We have learned about Computer-aid.
This week's key point is that Every digital media technology has an architecture that can be usedto transform work, play and governance.

Computer replaces human's doing. For example, People have drawn architectual design drawing by their hands since long time ago. And many productive activity have been done by humans. But now, in many parts of work area, It doesn't need human's hands anymore. Because Computer replace them, and Computer and machine have more productivity and efficency then human. Now, People uses the computer sciences it called a COMPUTER - AID.

The representative Computer-aid basic system is CAD (Computer Aided Design) and CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing). CAD is used for designing something especially architectual design drawing. Using CAD is very accurate and efficiency. We can consider very detail and precious parts when using CAD. CAM is used for manufactual activity. We have to design something with CAD or Computer-aid basic system at first. Then, Computer would manufacture what we designed automatically. It is usually used in Manufactual plants. Because of Using CAM, Machines displace human's hands completely. Human's hands is not accurate and fast, and makes many inferior goods. But machine doesn't do like that. There are only few inferior goods. See Car, Who makes car with their hands? Who makes air plane or computer with their hands? It is machines doing. Machines do. Human is only needed to recognize whether it is a inferior goods or not.

Computer-aid is a planner to design structure of someting. In fact, People have tried to make a structure with more precision and efficiency. Especially, in surveilance area, People thought how to supevise prisoner efficiently. In 1800s, they used a Circle form structure. supervisor top is central of prison area, and cell is located outline of circle. So supervisor can see prisoner easily. They didn't used computer. But the effort to advance designing made Computer-aid science.

I was very embarrased because of downloading problem in Website. So I had to write many parts of summary depending on my memory. But Computer-aid is not far with me. I already use computer-aid. Illustrator is also computer-aided-design.

Next week, we will study about Computer game. It is so interesting area. I expect it.
